Friends of Gin & Tonic celebrate Annual Luncheon
The Friends of Gin & Tonic (FoGT) celebrated their first annual luncheon at the Telus Convention Centre downtown Calgary on Sunday, 16 May 2010, following church service at Ft. Knox United Church. The luncheon was accompanied by the Christian rock band ‘Stryper’. Speaker was John A. Marr: ‘Alarm button, where is the alarm button?’
All 3800 seats (at $120 each) were sold out, which resulted in long lineups. The treasurer also reports 2.5 km of sold beer tickets This cash flow gives FoGT the opportunity to create and broadcast their own radio ads, and start a counter-misinformation campaign at high schools that puts rivals ‘Friends of Science’ to shame.
